INDIAN CULTURE

Asia is one of the largest continent. It has been the powers of rich cultures. Bharata varsha, Bharata Khanda is a fount of dynamic culture. It is as old as the humanity itself. The Vedas and Upanishads enriched the Asian culture. Vedic seers and saints left a bounteous culture. It is our ancient heritage.

A religion on the surface is a bundle of rites and rituals. Rituals are only a means of Dharma and culture is the sap of all outward practices. Culture is the very vital breath of our attitudes and approaches. Indian culture is Santana dharma. It is the unifying force of all ages and generations. Culture is the habit of successful self-control. Santana dharma is all embracing. It is ever fresh and vigorous.

India is a confluence of cultures. Indian culture reflects Indian genius. It has amazing integrated power. India is a heaven of a number of creeds and clans. Culture is the vital breath of all these diverse creeds. There is unique harmony. Peaceful coexistence is a living reality here. This reality is the heart beat of our Santana dharma.

Tolerance and compassion, relentless activity and renunciation are the striking traits of Indian culture. Our life here is all activity. The goal of all activity is to promote peace and unity. Our breathless activities (pursuits) should not make us megalomaniacs. Detachments to the fruit of action is true character. Dispassion is the essence of disinterested efforts.

Democracy and Secularism are the remarkable expressions of our culture. Secularism is rational spiritual humanism. All creeds, clans and codes are different paths. But the goal is one. It is to build a heaven on the earth. Heaven is in our thoughts, words and deeds. Indian culture envisages one world order (Vasudhaika Kutumbam). It projects positive values and attitudes. It regards man as God in flesh and blood. It considers the world as a temple. Reverence for life – in its infinite manifestations, is the lasting massage of Indian culture.
